Vaughan Williams

Anyone who follows politics in Llanelli will know that Vaughan Williams, Plaid Cymru's candidate for the general election, has been running a remarkable campaign, clocking up countless hours on the stump, knocking on doors, talking to people and picking up support.

Unlike Labour and the Tories, Plaid does not rely on a handful of big money donors to fund its work. As a grassroots party, all the money raised comes from ordinary people making small contributions.

Vaughan could make history in May and bring an end to Labour's 93 years of uninterrupted reign. It is time for a change.

If you can spare £5 or £10, please donate here.

Diolch. Thank you.
Vaughan and team

Just to clarify all monies for election of Llanelli Labour Candidate have been raised by CLP. Plaid members do not seem to have same committment and have resorted to begging on twitter.

So Labour doesn't rely on a handful of unions, big business and the likes of Tony Blair? Pull the other one.

Labour's campaign is financed by the likes of PricewaterhouseCoopers & Tony Blair's blood money - & despite that it's still deep in the red. A party in the bocket of vested interests.

We've been voting Labour in Wales for the best part of a century & all it's delivered is poverty, failure & a dependence culture.

Labour's only ambition for Wales is to come up with more of the same for the next century.

No record of success, no strategy to move Wales forward, no ambition for the country - nothing. God knows why any ordinary person would want to vote for, let alone contribute to this empty husk of a party.

Sneering Labour comment Anon 10.25 by a party that's taking Blair's blood money. The Plaid campaign is financed by the people. Labour have a vested interest in keeping the Welsh people poor, because poor people are more likely to vote Labour in the hope that "things can only get better". They didn't and they won't. Vote Plaid.

Sneering Plaid comment @Anon 13.34
The Llanelli Labour CLP has raised all money from 'people' for the election too. From constant fundraising, locally. The rest of the comment is so bigoted it is not worth commenting on.

Of course Vaughan Williams is clocking up some miles on his campaign, he lives over an hour away in Ceredigion.

Did Plaid not think that there was anybody good enough in Llanelli?

Thanks to evening for the great support we've had. I suspect Labour have been taking lessons off ukip with their hatred of outsiders!

I hope nobody tells them Nia was born in Dublin and raised outside the constituency. (One rule for one).

Thanks again for all your support. A people's campaign paid for by the people and not faceless millionaires or Blair's blood money. So proud.

If memory serves Nia didn't work here at all until she became a candidate, and can someone tell me when she actually moved to the Llanelli area? being a voter since 1986 I can say that from my observations, VW has been by far the most visible and proactive candidate I've met, as an ex-Labour voter I can say hand on heart I rarely saw Davies/Griffith doing this amount of leg work let alone meeting them. labour never felt the need to put the foot hours in imo as Llanelli was probably one of the (if not the) safest labour seat in the UK, but give their steadily declining majority I am amazed that they haven't been more visible this election. IS it a case of taking the vote for granted again? Or a campaign team that are falling short of achieving a visible run for parliament?
