Having half-baked policies or no policies at all is not
necessarily an obstacle to getting yourself elected as we all know, but not
having candidates or not telling anyone about them is an entirely new approach
being pioneered by Ukip in Wales.
At its conference in the plush surroundings of The Orangery
in Margam in December, Nigel Farage told the assembled retired military types, xenophobes,
racists, homophobes, crooks and funny handshake merchants who make up much of
the party's membership that Nathan Gill, the former care home gangmaster, had
been appointed Ukip leader in Wales (no messing about with all that messy
democratic nonsense of electing someone), and that this was a sign that the
party was taking Wales and Welsh politics seriously.
No laughing at the back.
If Ukip is serious about Wales, you would have thought they
would have candidates in place for the general election which is now just over
100 days away. So far it has 17 candidates out of 40 in place, including
luminaries such as John Rees-Evans, Cardiff South and Penarth, who claimed that
a gay donkey had tried to rape his horse.
Among the noteworthy seats where Ukip has no
candidate is Llanelli, where a previous attempt to select someone was aborted
thanks to infighting between party members. The Ukip Wales website was until
recently saying that a candidate to fight the seat would be selected on 7
January, but that date has now been removed.
It is now understood that the party will have another go at
finding someone on 28 January, with former LibDem councillor Ken Rees still
hoping to find a new political home.

I have it on good authority that a former Mayor and possibly Llanelli's most controversial counsellor has been approach and is considering his position...

Were you there then blogger?
Among that stereotypical gathering ?
Are you not going to reply to a simple question?
Or even place my statements on the blog?
Is this your concept of free speech then Blogger?
Graham, as far as I know I have posted everything you have contributed to this blog.
If I responded to everyone who posts a comment, I would not have time for anything else.
As for Ukip, it and its members do a very good job of stereotyping themselves.
The latest offering from the Farage fan club is this little gem - defections, allegations of corruption, backbiting and treachery:

Well if you want unbiased reporting blogger, I'm afraid you need an impartial source of material. The bbc is inherently left-wing. A £4billon pound protection racket enforced on a reluctant public by threat of imprisonment.
The bbc licence fee is equivalent to forcing people to subscribe to the Guardian, just so they can read the mirror.
Enough of that tho' so, you didnt actually witness that assortment as you describe them......did you perhaps dream it?
Just making a comment, that's all.
I was beginning to think you believed in free speech, just as long as you approved of what was said.
Do you realise blogger, that it was perhaps the assembled retired military types, and their predecessors, and indeed their modern day equivalents, who fought for and actually obtained for your right to free speech, and all the freedoms you enjoy?
Perhaps you have no qualms about insulting such people, and really have no clue what they did for you.
I am perfectly happy not to hide behind a pseudonym, my views are writ large, for all to see.
Your generalising, and stereotyping is a disgrace.
Shame on you.
Well blogger, if you think the present armed forces are unnecessary, that is a matter of opinion.
I rather suspect that if some terrorist comes acalling you may well be pleased to have a miltary presence.
You live in the past if you wish......myself I rather tend to dwell on the here and now, and what is likely to come to pass. If you are blind to other threats, I suggest you get your head from that pile of sand in which you keep it, and grasp reality.
So let's recap shall we?
In spite of you avoiding the issue, it's rather obvious that you werent at that UKIP meeting where you so eloquently described the assembled members.
You do not however quote any sources that could adequately describe them for you. So let's just face facts shall we: you made it up.
Given your attention to detail in matters ' County Council' I'm rather surprised at your generalising and stereotyping. But true to the well worn methods of the fascist left I'd say.
Just to finally remind you about fascists blogger (whosoever you may be) dont ever forget the Nazis under Hitler were ' National Socialists' . Some folk appear to forget that.
