It's all kicking off in County Hall. As predicted, Labour's choice of Jeff Edmunds does not appear to have gone down well with the Independents. There is no love lost between the WI cabal on one side of the fence, and the Weird Sisters of Llanelli Labour on the other. According to the latest reports, the Plaid group is now meeting to consider offers of a coalition from both Labour and the Independents.
For Plaid this is like being asked to choose between a caravan holiday at Chernobyl and a camping trip to Fukushima.
Choices, choices, but let's hope Emlyn Dole can resist a flash of leg from Pam and Meryl.

Similar to the Quote attributed to Schnozzle Durante, "I would not join any club which would have me as a member."
In this case, anyone whom this Council would NOT want as a member would be good enough for me.
Well Plaid going in with independents. This should be an interesting 2 years to see if they can deliver and not just talk about it.
If Leanne Wood 's campaign speeches meant anything, the voters of Carmarthenshire should expect Plaid to pursue a radical, left-of-centre programme. Cosying up to Meryl's reactionary, conservative and ideologically bankrupt party would be political suicide.
Too late. Dole and Plaid have already jumped into bed with the two old crones.
What does it take to get Pam and Meryl out of power? Parties come and go, chief execs come and go.. I think a nuclear fallout would come and go and *they* would still be there.
I thought that was Groucho Marx. Anyway, BBC saying that Plaid are now sleeping with the enemy.
Actually, it was Groucho Marx.
Seems that resistance proved to be futile
Plaid had an impossible choice between equally tainted suitors.
The question for me is, where will this leave Mark James? Can we assume that, being junior partners, the Independents have agreed to ditch him? Or has this not sunk in with all of them? Might it even result in a Pembrokeshire-style split within the Indies?
Of course, the worst possible outcome would be for Plaid to let the *tyrant stay in control as the price of coalition. That would really damage Plaid Cymru.
*I am of course using the term in its classical, Roman sense of a tyrant being someone given supreme authority at the expense of democracy.
Whoop whoop time to empty the reserves and no cut backs under plaid???? anti austerity pledge ......will it be honoured?????
No cuts in Carmarthenshire, more support for third sector organisations.... Hopefully accounted for appropriately!!!
Another Meryl Gravell donkey!!!! Well done!!!
Let's hope that Emlyn Dole has learnt the lessons of recent history - if you abandon what you stand for in the pursuit of power, the voters will punish you severely.
Will Plaid now make public what "deal" was done to make this seemingly unholy alliance work? Or will secrecy, dodgy dealing, "business as usual" and the dead hand of Mark James prevail?
So Frightening as Emlyn would have had to have permission from Plaid Central Office to form this coalition. Presumably Leanne approved just so she could say Plaid now lead a council, despite the unpalatable fellow travelers.
It is a little early to be speculating on the future of the coalition.Would not anything be better than the previous administration with its total support of Mark James.Three people have
consistently been singled out for criticism Mark James Eifion Bowen and Linda Rees Jones.Eifion Bowen apparently is retiring this year but Mark James really needs to go before any serious changes are made
It is not over until the fat lady sings.
Emlyn is his own man , does not need the approval of central hq or mp
I assume that Anon 22:40 and Anon 23:53 come from the same keyboard, because both are intelligible gibberish.
Hoffwn fod yn brifyn ar wal swyddfa Mark J am 5.00 o'r gloch neithiwr!
Hefyd pam nad arhosodd Plaid am gyfarfod gyda Llafur cyn mynd i'run gwely gyda'r Toriaid!
Plaid runs the risk of taking the blame for the Lab/Ind maladministration as it tries to solve matters. This could damage us in the elections in '17 and '18
The real test will be getting rid of the self serving "Putin"
If it doesn't happen Plaid will get the blame
Llafur mewn anhrefn llwyr Alun Thomas. Y grŵp wedi'i hollti. Eu triniaeth o Kevin Madge yn warthus. Buodd Jeff Edmunds yn siarad gydag Emlyn Dole, ond yn methu cynnig dim. Perygl i sefydlogrwydd y cyngor ei hun. Rhaid oedd gweithredu ar frys - er lles y sir.
Labour were deeply split after their disgraceful treatment of Kevin Madge. Jeff Edmunds spoke to Emlyn Dole, but had nothing to offer. There was a very real threat to the stability of the council itself. That's why Plaid accepted the Indies proposal in a rapid but responsible manner after detailed discussion in a full group meeting.
Cyng/Cllr Alun Lenny
I think you'll find that the national Plaid exec had to sanction the deal. Jonathan edwards' researcher tweeted it last night.
I can't believe that Plaid are running with the hounds now. Meryl will still be at it and Mr James will still be there. Will Plaid secure the departure of Mr James without spending a penny of public money? I foresee some big promises being broken.
Mr Lenny
There are a lot of things wrong relating to CCC and hopefully a change of the ruling group will make a difference.
I trust that your group will fully accept all the recommendations of the governance review and implement these ASAP.
There is one minor thing that irritates me. Why of why do councillors stand when the chair AND the CE enter the chamber.
The CE is an employee of the council and should himself stand for the chair. Just a small point I know but you lot should really sort it out !!
They show respect to the Chair - something Sian Caiach can not do as she is constantly deliberately late
Anon 00:05
You will find that Cllr Caiach reserves her right not to join in with the prayers and so enters the chamber afterwards.
In my view there is no place for prayers at a council meeting, but that's another argument.
