Adam Price for Carmarthen East and Dinefwr

At the second of two hustings held in Llandybie last night Adam Price was chosen by local members of Plaid Cymru to be the next candidate for the Carmarthen East and Dinefwr seat in the Senedd.

Adam spoke about his experiences in the United States, the economy, local government, the need to reinvigorate our country and the lessons we can learn from the Basque Country.

Whatever your political views, Carmarthenshire can be proud that it will be represented by one of the most gifted and respected politicians of his generation. Not for us the party hacks and hangers-on.

I think unfortunately ALL parties have hangers on and hacks, Plaid are not exempt.

Adam is gifted and I think he has been missed by plaid, just look at the drop in the parliamentary majority from Price to Edwards.

To be fair to Jonathan Edwards, it is not uncommon for majorities to drop when someone takes over from a popular incumbent. We also need to remember that general climate in the 2010 general election did not help.

He's making his mark now and certainly puts in the work. Provided he can stomach Westminster, he should be around for a long time to come.

If Labour put up a strong candidate Jonathan is out. I always hear people moaning about him.

Adam will get in without a problem.

HE is like the wind he comes and goes, how long is he going to be back this time

Proven track record whilst in the seat, pleased to hear he is back!! He campaigned and supported pensions for workers of a bankrupt company in an area outside of his remit.. Very supportive, approachable man.

He will walk it at the next election. Labour suck, always have, always will!!! Anthony davies??? NO CHANCE!

Tory Tart Morgan will be last in this race if he runs!

When was the last time Labour fielded "a strong candidate"?
Where would they find one? Do hens have teeth?

Discuss.

Does this mean that Darren Price will be moving back to Swansea. Dai Lloyd could yet make a comeback if Plaid dump Bethan Jenkins. Maybe Price can get his old job back.

I hope note, Oppo.

I had Darren Price marked out as the next Peter Hughes Griffiths. Although, come to think of it, he could still be Dr Dai's right-hand man whilst commuting from Gorslas.

Labour don't have a snowball's chance in Carmarthen East now that Adam's back. Does anyone remember Dr Alan squeak?

Jonathan Edwards would have been re-elected without the support of Adam due to his outstanding work rate and genuine talent.

The fact that Adam will once again be joining the mix in Carmarthen East has made a Plaid win in 2015 inevitable.

Darren Price & Cefin Campbell must be peed off that Plaid have parachuted Adam into the seat good as he is
Darren will be moving back to Swansea & Cefin will go on the regional list neither of them are interested ib their own constituencies

Anon @00.23 Parachuted? That term is normally used to mean that the central that a party HQ sends in an outsider to take over a seat. The sort of thing you see in the Labour Party, in other words.

Adam decided to stand in his own home patch. He didn't need a parachute.

Plaid promised not to put darren back in swansea after the exec board issues when he was on it! Don't think darren will want to rake all that up again.

If Anon 00:23 wants to know about parachuting candidates, just take a look at the Labour party. David Miliband in South Shields, Peter Hain in Neath and of course, Tal Michael in Anglesey just a few weeks ago.

Adam was the MP for the constituency. It is his home patch. Hardly need a parachute for that.

I'm pretty sure we'll see Darren Price and Cefin Campbell on the campaign trail with both Jonathan and Adam. There's no question about that.

Where the question comes is who Labour's candidate will be. In January the Labour party made a big fuss about it's supposed 'target seats' in Wales, but we've not seen or heard anything other than Calum Higgins getting more vocal.

If he's the best the labour party can do to take on the formidable politician that Jonathan Edwards is, they've got no chance.
