New Year Honours

After the usual nauseating lists of gongs for Tory party donors, shifty businessmen, hangers-on and assorted brown nosers, here's a richly deserved municipal award from Private Eye which is unlikely to make it into the glass cabinets in the lobby of County Hall.

Well deserved it would seem, as he can now add our name to the list of people losing their home, due in my case to NOT knowing that Blaenpant was actually being allowed to run their industrial business without having to obtain planning due to a special arrangement. This led to a catalogue of unspeakable consequences for us overmany years, one of which is losing our home. However MJ doesn't accept CCC are to blame in any way.

Along with Christopher Salmon's description of this MJ led authority being likened to 'a cicilian cartel ' their moral compass clearly hasn't been repaired as yet. What a disgrace. 2017 hasn't got off to a good start for CCC and Mark James, and doesn't look as tho it's going to improve any time soon either.

A worthy winner indeed. It couldn't have gone to a nicer man.

I’m sure that such a well deserved accolade will be at the top of the list of the Chair’s announcements at next Wednesday’s meeting and will be met with the usual mutual back slapping all round. That’s assuming Eryl isn’t told by Linda that any mention of it would be contempt of court.

Heh heh.

And before anyone gets any ideas, Mr. I Hislop is not the sort of chap who is scared of lawyers...

Just in case Councillor Eryl Morgan has missed the news of the CEO getting this prestigious UK national award, I'll slip him an email to see if he would like to include it in his list of Chair's announcements for next month's meeting.
Some people, specifically civil servants, seem to get honours and awards for just doing their jobs, but this one is, in my opinion, richly deserved.

but Sian we are forever seeing people being rewarded for failure. In this case it should be Shared with those at Cardiff Bay that refuse to stand up for those constituents in Carmarthen whose lives have been permanently damaged by the disgraceful conduct of certain members of the Council. They should hang their heads in shame. How many of these lame duck councillors present themselves at their various churches each week in sack cloth and ashes oozing with piety? Name and shame them all.

I have to agree with Private Eye and all these comments. A worthy winner indeed. Over 64 million people in the UK, so to be awarded Shit of the Year against all that competition, well, Carmarthenshire Council should be proud to be led by such a turd. He has certainly put them on the map.

Most certainly well deserved Mr James. How can such a vindictive and devious chief executive hold on to power in Carmarthen? The answer--because of weak scared senseless councillors who are threatened with court action as soon as there is a whiff of honest and open debate on any issues including democracy.
Wake up everyone and stand together to rid Carmarthen of this troublesome CEO.

Bu the look of the Heralds front page, and the ever growing concerns about Pembrey and Leisure, perhaps the award should have read 'In The Shit this Year!'

I think you mean 'bigger shit' of a man.

Lets hope the Herald and Carmarthen Journal run with it too and maybe, just maybe there will be some handy reminders places around Carmarthen and the locale to inform the local population what kind of super inflated ego-centric narcissistic 'shit' is running the fiefdom, sorry, county.

Shit of the year? Should have been decade.

And the fiasco at Pembrey still hasn't been resolved, will there be a legal case?
