Er bod Kevin Madge yn cydnabod bod "rhaid newid pethau ar frys" (yn ôl y BBC - erthygl yma a clip oddi ar y Post Prynhawn yn fan hyn), y cam nesaf fydd ymgynghoriad cyhoeddus. Felly, ni fydd fawr o ddim yn digwydd cyn 2015.
Does dim cyfrinach mai difaterwch ac hyd yn oed gelyniaeth tuag at yr iaith oedd nodweddion y Cyngor dan Meryl Gravell a'i "dream team". Wyddwn ni ddim beth oedd barn arweinydd y Blaid Annibynnol a chyd-ddeinosor Meryl, Pam Palmer ("a town whose name I shall not attempt to pronounce", h.y. Machynlleth), ond datgelodd Mrs G ei gwir deimladau yn ystod y cyfarfod ddoe. Yn ôl y BBC:
Mi ddywedodd hi ...... bod y cynnig yn ei "dychryn" a bod angen i'r sir fod yn "agored ar gyfer busnes ac i bobl fuddsoddi". Dywedodd hefyd bod yna ddyletswydd ar yr awdurdod i ddenu'r staff gorau.
Yr enghraifft amlycaf o ddenu'r staff gorau, wrth gwrs, yw'r Prif Weithredwr, Mark James.

Hoffwn i ofyn i Meryl Gravell beth yw ei diffiniad hi o 'staff gorau'? A ydyw yn cynnwys rhywun sy'n bwlio?
Your cynical assessment on the prospects for the Welsh language in Carmarthenshire will take a real blow when you find that, on his return, Mr James will have taken advantage of his (un)enforced absence to abide by his vow to learn Welsh. His new-found enthusiasm for the language and heritage will know no bounds, and we can look forward to a new dawn.
Or perhaps a compromise: leek soup on the menu in the Michelin-starred executive dining room.
Anon @ 8.17 - April Fools' Day was yesterday! You're too late.
Love the photo - pictures speak louder than words ....

Dream on.....
"... on his return ..." This is very presumptuous and optimistic of you anon 08:17.
"His new-found enthusiasm for the language ... to abide by his vow to learn Welsh !!!!" How long has this man lived and worked in Wales??? Wasn't learning welsh a condition of the job????
Is that a Cosh going for the back of Mr James is head !
I do think Anonymous 8.17 is almost on the money, regardless of the democratic campaigning of Plaid Cymru, nothing can save this rotten borough. They will bluff it out to the very end.
Haven't they already implemented Welsh language cuts in the County?
