We also know that the ombudsman was furious with having been called in as the allegations were unfounded. What I don't understand is why can't we talk about it? The investigation is not ongoing. The only reason that you would not want it dredged up again is that it is deeply embarrassing and would further highlight the deplorable tactics used during the course of your no-holds-barred campaign.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-118857435900510280.post-42567386246226313192017-02-26T20:55:29.627+00:002017-02-26T20:55:29.627+00:00Just for clarification, the tread carefully commen...Just for clarification, the tread carefully comment posted by myself (Poumista) was about the alleged assault at a community council meeting, I didn't want it dredged up again for obvious reasons. Either people are willfully ignoring the facts or they have severe reading difficulties. I don't know how many more times it can be said and in how many more ways : The tyres of those pro the changes HAVE been slashed, as have the tyres of people who are indifferent. There has been a spate of this in Llangennech since last year. This predates the decision and the current row. It has only ever been considered as the act of vandals or criminals in the village - nothing to do with the school issue. Maybe people would grasp these facts if I explained it through the medium of interpretive dance... or shadow puppets?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-118857435900510280.post-35997057801915229852017-02-24T21:05:17.855+00:002017-02-24T21:05:17.855+00:00Anon 10:53 We now know that those who had their ty...Anon 10:53 We now know that those who had their tyres slashed never claimed it was the work of the other side. The police have stated that there was no connection between the tyres incident and the school dispute. Which must call into question whether the spitting and other unpleasantness ever happened.

You may believe what you wish to believe, and the version others have chosen to promote, but the emerging facts are very different.Jac o' the North,https://www.blogger.com/profile/02032744625666336148noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-118857435900510280.post-84804696644630491962017-02-24T14:31:59.041+00:002017-02-24T14:31:59.041+00:00Excellent and thought provoking as always. When it comes to the "tyre slashing" incident, as soon as it became obvious the police weren't going to back up the connection, whoever did encourage the report to the papers is now going to be back pedalling, claiming it wasn't them and trying to show themselves as perfectly reasonable. Something to bear in mind.

Yeah, I saw a little spat on social media about Cymdeithas yr Iaith not getting involved. As often the case in these matters, the attempt at stopping the media from printing biased stories by getting certain people to keep quiet, not saying anything that could be misunderstood by obtuse or biased people has not resulted in the media not printing biased stories, and has perhaps simply resulted in making the other side of the issue even more heard. I don't know.Iantonoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-118857435900510280.post-88462000285499540532017-02-24T10:53:03.553+00:002017-02-24T10:53:03.553+00:00While I don't think it was fair on the WM to t...While I don't think it was fair on the WM to target cymdeithas yr iaith, I'm fairly sure if the tyres of pro Welsh parents had been slashed as the met to discuss the issue we would naturally draw the conclusion that it was probably the opposite side that had done it. If the shoe was on the other foot I think this blog post would be very different. It would seem that Labour, the campaign group and the press are free to make any allegation, spin any story or weave any lie, but anyone who takes exception to their behaviour is a 'nationalist' (not the good British kind, but the very bad Welsh kind) or a nasty online troll. And through all of this, our apparently mute MP, Nia Griffith, has been somewhere in Staffordshire (Copeland?) listening to locals' concerns and generally being dutiful.
